Why use parchment paper?

What is parchment paper?

Parchment paper is an odorless and tasteless paper made from cotton fiber and/or pure chemical wood pulps that has a silicone coating making it non-stick. It is greaseproof or grease resistant.

What is parchment paper used for?

Parchment paper is a game changer in the baking world. I use it for so many things! Parchment paper has a coating that makes it non-stick. It is also grease proof which means you can bake cookies on it and then throw the paper away and not have to wash your pans! Parchment helps create even baking as well by creating a thin layer between the baking sheet paper which helps regulate the temperature of your baked item.

Where can you buy parchment paper?

I buy parchment paper at costco and on amazon! Costco sells a two pack of parchment that lasts forever. The one thing I don't love about it is that you have to rip it off and I often tare of way more than I end up needing. Here is the link for the kirkland parchment. I also buy parchment in 9x13 sheets on amazon. The sheets are so great because they fit a sheet pan perfectly! Here is the link for the paper I use! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081TZ5KPD/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A288LJKUH48CHC&th=1

What temperature does the paper go to?

I didn't know this before started using parchment and as a result I have burned the paper a few times. Parchment is only oven safe to 425 degrees F. Lastly, parment is not meant to be put in the broiler, it will burn!
