Red, white, and blue, snack mix! An easy patriotic snack made with chex cereal, mini marshmallows, pretzels, M&M's, white chocolate, and sprinkles. An explosion of flavor and fun!
It's July, its busy, and you just remembered you have to bring a dessert to the neighborhood 4th of July BBQ...this recipe is perfect! It's a fan favorite and is so easy to make. In just 20 minutes this festive dessert is ready to go and sure to be a showstopper!
I am a huge fan of all types of snack mixes, sweet, salty, and savory. One of my absolute favorite treats of all time is puppy chow (muddy buddies)! The chocolate and peanut butter flavor, in combination with the crunch of the Chex cereal, makes for the perfect snack. This snack mix ranks right up there as one of my favorites as well.
This star spangled snack mix doesn't disappointment! The bright red, white, and blue, colors in combination with the bright sprinkles and M&M's make for the most fun treat everyone will love. I'm also such a fan 0f texture and when you bite into this snack you get a very satisfying crunch followed by the chewy texture of the chocolate and marshmallows! While I was making this my kids were hovering like sharks just waiting to get after it. I also just think that this snack looks so fun and really brightens up any table!
Star Spangled Snack Mix
Ingredients
4 cups of Chex corn cereal
2 cups of snack pretzels
2 cups of marshmallows
1 1/2 cups melted white chocolate candy coating
1/2 cup red candy melts melted
1/2 cup blue candy melts melted
1 cup M&M's candy red, white, and blue
Your favorite patriotic sprinkle mix
1 tsp canola oil
Instructions
Dump 4 cups Chex, 2 cups pretzels, and 2 cups marshmallow, into in a large bowl.
Pour 1 1/2 cup melted white chocolate into the large bowl and stir until all of the cereal is coated evenly in chocolate.
Dump the chocolate mix onto parchment paper and spread it out.
Melt the blue candy melts in a glass Pyrex measuring cup at 40% power for 1 minute or until fully melted. Add 1/2 tsp of canola oil to the chocolate and mix it in well. Drizzle over the snack mix.
Repeat step 4 with the red candy coating.
Sprinkle the M&M's over the top!
Add your favorite sprinkles and pop it into the fridge to set for 10 minutes.
Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks!
