Caramel Apple Cups

Caramel Apple Cups

Ingredients

11 oz bag Kraft Caramels unwrapped

3 Tbsp half and half

1 large or 2 small granny smith apples

¼ cup halloween colored M&M’s

4 oreos crushed

Halloween sprinkles

½ cup white chocolate chips

½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips

2 small plastic pastry bags

12 cupcake liners (silicone work best)

Non stick cooking spray

Muffin tin

Instructions

  1. Unwrap all 11 0z's of the Kraft caramels and place them in a small saucepan.

  2. Add 3 Tbsp of half and half to the saucepan and turn to medium low heat. Stir constantly until they are completely melted and set aside.

  3. Line a muffin tin with 12 cupcake liners (silicone is best for nonstick). Spray the liners and the top of the pan really well with cooking spray.

  4. Distribute the caramel evenly by pouring it into each cupcake liner.

  5. Chop your apple into twelve 1” cubes.

  6. Place an apple cube onto the top of each caramel cup.

  7. Place the 4 oreos in a plastic bag and break them into pieces with a mallet or rolling pin.

  8. Place ½ cup white chocolate chips and ½ cup of semi sweet chips into two separate plastic piping bags. Place the piping bags in the microwave at 40% power for 2 minutes. Check them at a minute and mix the chips around a bit for an even melt.

  9. Drizzle the melted white chocolate and then semi sweet chocolate over the top of the apples and caramel.

  10. Alternate sprinkling the M&M’s, oreos, and sprinkles over the top of the melted chocolate.

  11. Place the apple cups in the refrigerator to set for 20-30 minutes! Enjoy!

Notes:

These are VERY sticky if you don't use non-stick spray on the liners. Make sure you spray the inside of the muffin tin as well as the top! Silicone cupcake liners are the best to use and if sprayed the caramel apple cups come right out.

Tips for Success

  • Apple Variety: Choose crisp apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness.

  • Personal Touch: Customize your toppings! Try adding nuts, shredded coconut, or other candies for a unique twist.

  • Storage: Store any leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container, but they’re best enjoyed fresh! I would eat them within 24 hours or the juice from the apples will make the caramel sticky.

Conclusion

These caramel apple cups are not only a treat for the taste buds but also a delight for the eyes. Perfect for Halloween parties, school snacks, or just a fun family activity, they’re sure to be a hit! Get your little ghouls and goblins involved in the decorating process for an unforgettable Halloween experience. Happy Halloween! 🍏🍬🎃
